Returning From the Margins
Sometimes the best you can do in turbulent times is lay low and run silently
ShortStack
Some of you dear readers have asked and no doubt wondered why this Substack went quiet for a while. A cluster of factors caused me to practice self-care in the margins and fend off chaos, challenges and bad juju. But now I’m back, ready to rock again.
An abortive shift in my home place landed me in a kind pal’s guest bedroom until I found my new abode. The weeks before and after the election may have left me with much to say. But I felt my best way to make it through all that muck was to lay low. Besides, had some busy freelance work that I’ll share some of as well as the wisdoms it grants me.
During all that, the copy and commentary muse remained active. Over the coming days, Echoes From the Margins will be a bit like an Advent calendar leading up to the big winter holiday, opening doors onto various scenes and vistas. And, I hope, rewarding you, my subscribers, with copy that engages, entertains and maybe even enthralls.
Keep the faith, and y’all be cool.
ps. I always look for a reason to invoke Dylan, especially with two guys accompanying him I feel blessed to have known in My Weird Life, both fellow Roberts, Stoner and Neuwirth.
Hi Rob! Always happy to hear from you (and see any of the Bobs). Take care! x
